Tabla Lessons at the hindu temple of northeast wisconsin

The beginners Tabla lesson course is the initiation of the Tabla learning process. The course consists of 12 group classes of 45 minutes each. The first class is free of cost discussing the learning process and the basics of Tabla. This will be a group class with maximum of six students in each batch. Here are the details.

1. Tabla 101 - This covers the history of the Tabla and its bols. Different parts of Tabla. Basic practice bols. (2 classes).
2. Concept of Taal - Basic understanding of the Taal. Examples of Taals and its structure. Teental. (1 class)
3. First Teental Kaida with basic bols like Dha, Terekite, Taka. All variations of the Kaida and end with the Tihai. Playing the Kaida alongside the Nagma. (3 classes)
4. 2nd Teental Kaida with bols like Dha, Tete, Thuna Kena, Dhina Ghena. All variations of the Kaida and end with the Tihai. Playing the Kaida alongside the Nagma. (3 classes)
5. Simple Tabla taals for accompanying instruments or vocal music. Learning how the Tabla Kaida fits into other simpler Taals. (1 classes)
6. Fixed Tabla compositions concept like Tukra and Gats. (2 classes)
7. Tabla recital to review the learning. (1 class)

This beginners Tabla course semester fees are $300 for the (12+1) weekly group classes of 45 minutes each. There will be course completion certificate provided at the end of the course in collaboration with the Hindu Temple of Northeast Wisconsin. The total fees will be due in two installments that is $150 due at the registration and the $150 due on the 6th week of the semester.
