Sur Academy of Music and Arts is a growing cultural institution dedicated to promoting the richness and depth of Indian classical music through innovative collaborations, education, and performance. Founded just over a year ago by distinguished Tabla artist Sutanu Sur, the academy has quickly established itself as a vibrant platform for artistic excellence and cross-cultural engagement.

Under Sutanu Sur’s leadership as Founder, Educator, and Artistic Director, Sur Academy has been at the forefront of organizing workshops, concerts, and masterclasses in collaboration with reputed universities, orchestras, and choral groups across the United States. The academy’s vision is to bridge traditional Indian music with global musical forms, creating meaningful and contemporary artistic experiences.

In a short span of time, Sur Academy has made remarkable strides in the cultural landscape:

• 20+ concerts co-organized within the first year, showcasing Indian classical and fusion music across diverse audiences
• Collaborations with prestigious institutions such as:
  • Santa Fe Desert Chorale
  • Jacobs School of Music, Indiana University
  • Grinnell College
  • Cornell College
  • And several other leading cultural and academic organizations
• Successfully organized its first Annual Recital, providing a professional stage for students and artists to perform and grow
• Built a strong and growing community with 25+ enrolled students across in-person and online Tabla programs
